 CONDITIONS of ENTRY

1. Theme - OPEN

2. Poem length - maximum 50 lines

3. Entry fee - $8.00 per entry. Multiple entries are permitted, with separate entry form and fee per entry. Cheques payable to "Shoalhaven Literary Award".

4. Closing date - 5 pm Friday, 26th May 2006

5. Format - A4 sheets, with text printed or typed in minimum 12 font.

Handwritten text is unacceptable.

6. Identity - The author's identity must be on the entry form only. No author identification to appear on either the manuscript or title page.

7. Manuscripts - entrants must provide two (2) copies of each manuscript. Manuscripts will not be returned and will be destroyed after the competition.

8. Copyright - Authors retain copyright to all work submitted, although prize-winning entries are available for publication in future issues of "Dialogue" magazine, published by Shoalhaven City Council.

9. Selection - Poems will be original, creative, and inspiring works which present to the reader as an engaging work of literary excellence.

10. Entrants - The competition is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 or over with exception of the judges or SLA committee members. Poems submitted must not have previously been published, nor be under consideration for publication, although may have been entered in other competitions.

11. Judging - The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
